PGDE

This morning I had an interview at the University of Glasgow for a place on the Postgraduate Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in Secondary Maths. I’m pleased to announce that I was offered a place, pending completion of a top-up course, to join the course in August!

Well, I am now officially (well after July 5th) David Connor BSc (Hons). After the gruelling experience that was the exams I am quite relieved that I passed and came out with a 2.2.

While I wouldn’t have been too chuffed with a 2.2 when I started, it’s a satisfactory end to Uni for me.

Job hunt begins now - need to get away from the dreaded ‘M’!

Distractions..

The internet is a cruel beast. It’s just under 76 hours before my project is due in and I’m in the “quiet zone” in the lab concentrating on improving the design and implementation sections of my report (improving meaning completing!). One click away is a world of distraction that I can never switch off - at uni theres a mega speed dedicated line and at home I have my now upgraded 2Mb broadband connection.

This has lead to my bank balance being drastically reduced. All this “spare” time collected by staying in has been translated to “browsing” time. Bought three series of the X files on dvd (the last 3 came out today) in an attempt to complete my collection.

This distraction has of course lead me here - my blog. Not only am I wasting time surfing, I’m wasting ever more blogging about wasting time surfing!

Ah well
