Today I received an email from the folks at theonering.net telling me of the fantastic announcement made in Hollywood today.
Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema have put aside their differences - royalties from the “Fellowship of the Ring” - to join forces with MGM to produce “The Hobbit” over two films, slated for release in 2010/2011, a full 7 years since the release of “Return of the King”.
Hopefully some of the cast will return - most notably of course, Sir Ian McKellan as Gandalf and Andy Serkis as Gollum.
One Ring and all that…
I’ve been enjoying a lot of the X Files recently with the reruns on FX and the new DVDs. I have to say it is probably my most favourite TV show.
Currently I’m coming to the end of season 4 and it’s just fantastic. Season 4 is where Scully contracts her illness and the emotions involved are amazing - an Gillian Anderson looks HOT!
It’s such a shame the show faded in its later seasons but all the more reason to cherish the earlier episodes.
Season 5 is due soon!
The internet is a cruel beast. It’s just under 76 hours before my project is due in and I’m in the “quiet zone” in the lab concentrating on improving the design and implementation sections of my report (improving meaning completing!). One click away is a world of distraction that I can never switch off - at uni theres a mega speed dedicated line and at home I have my now upgraded 2Mb broadband connection.
This has lead to my bank balance being drastically reduced. All this “spare” time collected by staying in has been translated to “browsing” time. Bought three series of the X files on dvd (the last 3 came out today) in an attempt to complete my collection.
This distraction has of course lead me here - my blog. Not only am I wasting time surfing, I’m wasting ever more blogging about wasting time surfing!
Ah well
